The burnout

Madhubani art — also known as Mithila art — is a traditional Indian art form. The origins of Madhubani painting are rooted back to the ancient city of Mithila, the birth place of Sita, the daughter of King Janak. These paintings were commissioned by the king to commemorate the marriage of his daughter to Lord Rama of Ayodhya. It continues to grow as a household art, mainly as social practice and customs. Paintings of Lord Krishna and Radha in Indian culture have been always portrayed as a symbol of pure love and friendship. Their love story is often interpreted as eternal and majestic. 

This Folklore Art was exhibited by HUG and Unfold Gallery in Miami on Dec 8th during Miami Art Week 2023. This Madhubani Painting has taken 42 hours to execute using Procreate.

Sweet Home

"Blind Dance" is a mixed-media collage artwork that attempts to explore the adversity of a dysfunctional relationship between two characters. Each one is dangerous to the other, but still can't live without, a toxic relationship that, with time, turns into a lifestyle, something that perhaps everyone went through at some point in life. Love and lust are what make them dance blindly in an infinite loop that, may or not may be broken if one of them one day, chooses to leave the dancing ring.

In my head, there are times when everything feels extra bright and lively. It's like turning up the volume on life, and suddenly, the world is full of exciting possibilities. Ideas pop up one after another, like fireworks.

I don't sleep much during these times. There's this buzzing energy inside me, making my thoughts race. It's like my heartbeat and my quick thoughts are playing a fast song together.

Things that seemed really hard before suddenly become doable. I feel super focused, and even ordinary stuff seems really amazing. But, even in all this excitement, there's a small feeling that things might not stay this way.

It's a bit like a mix of feeling super alive but also a little uneasy. I'm in control, but I also know that this intense energy might not stick around forever. It's like being both the leader and the follower, making the most of the lively moments while remembering that things can calm down too.

I Love Henry Moore 

The Simurgh, a mythical bird from Persian literature and mythology, symbolizes wisdom and unity. It is depicted within an intricate web of lines, evoking an expansive wingspan along with abstractly mirrored sweeping arcs and feather-like filaments.

Luminosity

Upon a desolate pinnacle, a knight endured eternity. Nameless, he stood steadfast in the midst of the writhing mists, a living enigma sustained by its horrifying essence. Shrouded in black plate studded with moldering tusks, he grasped his polearm in defiant challenge, tattered oath papers shifting languidly in the heavy breeze.

The landscape, bereft of any refuge, unfolded beneath the sanguine cloak of the mist. Sharp peaks jutted through the writhing tendrils of crimson fog, marking the ridges between the depthless chasms below which spawned the eternally flowing blood-fog. He had stood in this silent vigil for so long that the reason for his being there evaded him. Thought itself evaded him, with decades passing under his glacial watch. So he stood in silent vigil, waiting for a foe which may never come.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

This is a selfie I took on my cellphone, and manipulated in Sketchbook.  I posted a time-lapse of how I drew, and made it on TikTok and Instagram.

I hear colors, and I love to make them sing in all of my artworks.  One of my biggest fans called me, "The Maker Of Rainbows" once.  I really enjoyed that name and sometimes refer to myself as a Rainbow Maker.  I love music as much as I love art, and I believe art is a monolith and testament to our fleeting existence in this world, and a vital component of human evolution and the state of invention. Alien Life

Chromostereopsis is one of my favorite illusions to work with in my art.  Believe it or not, some people cannot experience it, which is why I have begun with this particular artwork to emphasize depth with elements of chiaroscuro: casting shadows, reflecting light, core shadows, highlights...  This artwork is also a complete irregular counterchange, like that of a common "Check" pattern found on a black and white chessboard.  Color is the only tool giving the surreal illusion of dimension, and diminishing geometries creating the illusion of perspective.  Such is life, an illusion? To some, maybe...

Even though, without ants, the chaos that would  devastate ecosystems all around the world that Humans depend on, so we are really no better than ants, because we still need them, as do so many other species.  What is truly alien?  Alien must simply mean it is something we have yet to encounter, understand, and explain.
